NYFW Street Style Is All About Varsity Jackets, Knits And Western Chic

New York Fashion Week is in full swing, and designers are showcasing their latest styles as part of their Fall/Winter 2024 collections. Some of the most viral TikTok fashion trends of 2024 are all over New York City’s street style at the moment, whether it's the Wild West craze, oversized jersey jackets, or knits.

Jersey Jackets

Jersey jackets have become a popular street style trend during New York Fashion Week. K-pop stars like Lee Junho and Win Metawin have been spotted wearing Tommy Hilfiger's latest collection, which features preppy and uptown looks. The collection includes knits, trench coats, and of course, jersey jackets with the brand's logo.

Varsity jackets have also made a comeback, as seen on the Grammy Awards red carpet and in KidSuper's limited-edition collaboration with Starbucks.

Knits Galore

Knits are a major highlight of winter 2024 style, and they are dominating the street style scene during New York Fashion Week. Christopher John Rogers' Resort collection showcased rainbow knits that have gone viral, while Loewe's anagram knits in natural hues and mohair blend are also a top look this season.

White Coats

Statement coats are a must during the winter, and Keni Silva nailed it with her white coat at the recent Badgley Mischka show. Quilted jackets, winter coats, and vegan coats have been gaining traction this season, but statement coats will be the highlight of spring fashion. From trench coats to bold colored jackets and pea coats, fashionistas are making a statement with their outerwear.

While rockin' a wool coat is one thing, a perfectly-tailored coat that has that 'wow' factor is another.

Fuzzy Statement Hats

Huge hats are trending this season, and oversized, fuzzy hats are taking the street style scene by storm. Influenced by stars like Emily Ratajkowski, who have been spotted wearing oversized hats, this trend adds a bold fashion statement to any outfit. The bucket hat, a trend revived by Rihanna in 2020, now comes in fun fur, wool, and other non-typical hat fabrics. This season is all about maximalism when it comes to headwear.
