Annie Leibovitz Collaborates with IKEA

IKEA launches its inaugural artist-in-residence initiative with renowned portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Annie Leibovitz and her Lens Inside Lived-In Homes

According to IKEA's Life at Home Report, nearly half of people globally feel that their life at home is not accurately represented in the media. To combat this, IKEA has partnered with portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz for its artist-in-residence program.

Leibovitz is known for capturing intimate and authentic moments, and now she turns her lens to homes around the world. Together with IKEA, she has visited 25 households in Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Through her visual language, Leibovitz aims to showcase the diverse and lived-in environments of these homes.

While the complete collection of images can only be viewed at the collaborative exhibition in Paris, a sneak peek of select shots has been released. These captivating images offer a glimpse into the everyday lives of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Celebrating International Talent with IKEA+ Festival

To celebrate the collaboration between Annie Leibovitz and IKEA, the brand is organizing a four-day festival in Paris called IKEA+. This event will feature an interactive music experience led by Rinse Radio, showcasing international talent.

In addition to the music experience, the festival will offer a preview of IKEA's TESAMMANS collection and the work of Raw Color. Furthermore, six emerging photographers who participated in the IKEA mentorship program, guided by Leibovitz herself, will exhibit their captivating work.

The festival aims to highlight and honor creativity from around the world, offering a platform for both established and up-and-coming artists to showcase their talents.

Annie Leibovitz's collaboration with IKEA is a testament to the brand's commitment to representing the diverse realities of people's lives at home. By partnering with Leibovitz, IKEA hopes to bridge the gap between media representation and the lived experiences of individuals worldwide.

This collaboration not only brings attention to the importance of representation but also provides a platform for emerging photographers to showcase their talents.
