Expanding Truck Schedule

ARCA East champion William Sawalich, a 17-year-old Toyota development driver, will be expanding his NASCAR Truck schedule in 2024. Although he is not yet old enough to compete full-time in any NASCAR national series, he will greatly increase his Truck starts next year.

In the previous season, Sawalich participated in six Truck races. However, in 2024, he is scheduled to compete in nine events driving Tricon's No. 1 Toyota. These races will mark his first starts at the short tracks in Bristol, Tennessee, and Martinsville, Virginia.

To conclude the year, Sawalich will participate in seven of the final nine races in the series. These races will take place at Indianapolis Raceway Park, Richmond, Milwaukee Mile, Bristol, Martinsville, Homestead-Miami, and Phoenix.

Notable Performances

In the 2023 season, Sawalich achieved three top-10 finishes in six starts, with his best finish being sixth at Indianapolis Raceway Park. During his Truck debut at Martinsville, he became the third-youngest driver in series history to secure a top-10 finish at the age of 16 years, 6 months, and 12 days.

Sawalich expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, stating, "I am excited to be back with the No. 1 team in 2024. We were super consistent this past season, and I am looking forward to repeating that with my group of guys. I am confident it will be another successful year with Tricon."

Sawalich's Truck races in 2024 will be sponsored by Starkey and its SoundGear digital sound enhancement line of products.

ARCA East and National Series

In the previous season, Sawalich had an impressive performance in ARCA East competition, winning four out of eight events and achieving top-five finishes in the remaining races. He also made a strong start in the national ARCA Menards Series, securing four wins, 11 top-five finishes, and six poles in 13 starts while driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

In 2024, Sawalich is set to compete in all but six national ARCA Menards Series races while also defending his ARCA East title.

As a rising talent in the sport, Sawalich's expansion of his NASCAR Truck schedule and continued success in ARCA East and the national series positions him closer to full-time competition in the future.
