ABC's Midseason Schedule Update

ABC has made some changes to its midseason schedule, including the addition of the Hulu Original comedy series Only Murders in the Building. The show will air on Tuesday nights in January, following Celebrity Jeopardy which has also been moved to Tuesdays from its original Wednesday slot.

Only Murders in the Building, starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, will premiere on Tuesday, January 2nd at 9 p.m. The first three episodes will air back-to-back, following a new semifinal episode of Celebrity Jeopardy! at 8 p.m.

The Journey to Primetime

ABC had originally planned to air Only Murders in the Building during this season while its other original scripted series were delayed due to the dual strikes in Hollywood. However, the network decided to give the show a primetime run starting in January.

The hit comedy, which has been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series at the upcoming Emmy Awards, is produced by ABC sibling 20th Television for Hulu. Disney, the parent company of ABC and 20th Television, recently announced its acquisition of Comcast's stake in Hulu, making Disney a full owner of the streaming platform.

The Plot of Only Murders in the Building

Only Murders in the Building, created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime. When a murder occurs in their apartment building, they decide to investigate the case using their knowledge of true crime and record a podcast about it. As they uncover the secrets of the building and each other, they realize that a killer may be living among them.

The show, which has been recently renewed for a fourth season, is the most-viewed Hulu Original comedy series to date.
